It’s no secret that DaimlerChrysler has high hopes for making Dodge a bigger player beyond its home market, which neatly explains the existence of the roadster above. Dubbed the “Demon,” this two-seat roadster will be unveiled next month in Geneva, and like most DCX concepts, it’s said to be a runner.
The Dodge Demon, as you might imagine, is aimed squarely at Mazda’s MX-5, as well as domestic competition from General Motors in the form of the Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky. The rear-driver utilizes DCX’s 2.4-liter “world engine,” which kicks out 172 horsepower and 165 pound-feet of torque, routed through a conventional six-speed manual transmission. <windingroad>
