Towleroad: Today's astronomy "picture of the day" from NASA is a real winner. Shot from Perth, Australia on Australia Day (January 26) it's a composite of three images and three separate light shows. Fireworks, a thunderstorm, and Comet McNaught, visible in the center of the photo. A pretty spectacular day at the beach, and, given the temperatures in New York, that's looking pretty good about now.
